What is the 'Bounce' feature and how do I use it?
A Junk email sender, or 'Spammer', sends unsolicited email to any active email addresses on his mailing list. To convince spammers that your email address is inactive, IncrediMail created the 'Bounce'
feature fakes an 'Inactive Account' reply to the unsolicited email, causing the spammer to believe that the email account is inactive. In many cases the spammer will then remove your email address from his mailing list and there is a good chance that you will no longer receive Junk mail from that specific spammer.
For maximum effect, we do not recommend that you perform this action more than once on the same email message.
To use the 'Bounce'
feature and bounce Junk mail, simply do the following:
In the IncrediMail main window, right-click the unsolicited email and select 'Bounce to Sender'.
Click 'Bounce to Sender' (marked in red) to send a fake 'Inactive Account' reply to the email sender.
Note: Check the 'In addition, delete this message' checkbox (marked in blue) to delete the email when 'bouncing' it.
An example of faked 'Inactive Account' email as received by spammers is shown in the image below:
