How do I open an account with Yahoo! Mail and configure it in IncrediMail?
On April the 24th
, 2002, Yahoo! Mail stopped providing free POP3 access or Auto Mail Forwarding to Yahoo!Delivers subscribers. These feature are now only available for Yahoo! paying customers.
If you wish to receive and read your Yahoo! Mail using any email client such as Outlook Express, Eudora or IncrediMail, you must purchase a Yahoo! Mail subscription.
For an email account with free POP3 access, you can either open an account with Softhome
, two reliable POP3 email account providers, or any other free POP3 email account provider you choose.
If you are a Yahoo! services subscriber and would like to configure your Yahoo! Mail account in IncrediMail, please do the following:
Opening an Account with Yahoo! Mail:
Click here to open an account with Yahoo! Mail and begin the registration process.
Log in to your email account.
Click 'Mail Options' (marked in red) and select 'POP Access & Forwarding' (marked in blue).
Verify that the 'Web and POP Access' radio button (marked in red) is selected and click 'Save' (marked in blue).
Configuring your Yahoo! Mail account with IncrediMail:
In the IncrediMail main window, click the 'Tools' menu (marked in red) and select Accounts (marked in blue).
At this point, the 'Mail Accounts' dialog opens. Click 'Add' (marked in red) to create a new email account.
At this point, the 'Account Wizard' dialog opens. Select 'Let me configure settings myself' (marked in red)and click 'Next' (marked in blue).
Please enter your Display name (marked in red) (as you prefer it to appear to your email recipients and your email address (marked in blue).
After filling in these details, click 'Next' (marked in green).
Once IncrediMail automatically fills in the Yahoo! Mail server settings, click 'Next' to proceed.
Note: Your computer must be online for IncrediMail to automatically enter the mail server settings. If you aren't online, click 'Skip' and manually enter the mail server settings.
Enter your Yahoo! Mail Username (marked in red) and Password (marked in blue) and click 'Finish' (marked in green).
Select your newly configured Yahoo! Mail account (marked in red) and click 'Properties' (marked in blue).
Click the 'Servers' tab (marked in red) and mark the 'My server requires authentication' check box (marked in blue).
Click 'OK' and close the 'Mail Accounts' dialog. Your Yahoo! Mail account is now correctly configured with IncrediMail.
It may take a few minutes for Yahoo to process your account information. If you receive any error messages sending or receiving the first time, please wait a few minutes and try again.
