Q: Why are my Address Book contacts deleted each time I exit IncrediMail?

A:
Your IncrediMail Address Book is a useful tool that assists you in organizing and maintaining your email contact list.

If you add new contacts to your IncrediMail Address Book, and they are deleted each you exit IncrediMail, please do the following:
  1. In the IncrediMail main window, click the 'File' menu (marked in red), scroll down to 'Export' (marked in green) and select 'Contacts...' (marked in blue).

  2. At this point, the 'Save As' dialog opens. Save the 'IncrediMail Exported Contacts (csv format)' file to your Desktop.

  3. Right-click the IncrediMail Tray icon, located in the lower right-hand corner (near the computer clock) and select 'Exit'.

  4. Windows 2000 or XP users: Browse to the following location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile(Logon Name)\Local Settings\Application Data\IM\Identities\{Long Number}

    Note: If you cannot view the 'Local Settings' folder, click here.

    Windows 98 or ME users: Browse to the following location:

    C:\Windows\Application Data\IM\Identities\{Long Number}

  5. Delete the 'AddressBook' folder.

  6. Open IncrediMail, click the 'File' menu (marked in red), scroll to 'Import' (marked in blue) and select 'Contacts…' (marked in green).

  7. At this point, the 'Import Contacts' dialog opens. Select 'IncrediMail Exported Contacts (csv format)' (marked in red) and click 'Next' (marked in blue).

  8. Click 'Select File...' (marked in red), select the 'IncrediMail Exported Contacts (csv format).csv' file that you saved to your Desktop and click 'Next' (marked in blue).

  9. Once the import process completes, click 'Close' and continue adding new contacts to your IncrediMail Address Book in the usual fashion.
