Q: How do I configure IncrediMail to work with Norton AntiVirus 2000?

A: Antivirus software protects your computer from viruses and other harmful files by scanning your incoming and outgoing email. To configure Norton AntiVirus 2000 to scan your incoming email, please do the following:
  1. In the IncrediMail main window, click the 'Tools' menu and select 'Accounts'.

  2. At this point, the 'Mail Accounts' dialog opens. Select your email account, click 'Properties' and select the 'Servers' tab.

  3. Enter the following, as shown marked in red in the example below:

    In the 'Incoming mail server' field, enter: 127.0.0.1

    In the 'Username' field, enter: your user name/incoming mail server (For example: jsmith/pop.mail.example.com)

  4. Click 'OK' and close the 'Mail Accounts' dialog.

  5. Norton AntiVirus 2000 is now configured with IncrediMail and will scan your incoming email for viruses.

    6. Note: Norton AntiVirus 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 do not require any configuration with IncrediMail and will automatically check your incoming and outgoing email for viruses.
